If you found Amozon price at 4511.23 you done very well at the Photography show the other week it was 5100.99
That a big price drop in just a few weeks.
Probably a VAT fiddle. SLRHut offer a price of 3999 - but they're not VAT registered and don't add VAT to the base price, so you're possibly going to end up with a grey import.

Wow - how do the Nikon guys achieve this? One stop higher that manages to be even more unusable than the previous highest setting. The marketing department must be paying a lot of overtime.

It's a shame because the D3s was an astonishing camera for noise control and the D4/s performs just as well. But I can see little, if any improvement over said D3s. That means that rather than being something awe-inspiring, they've taken possibly its most impressive feature [high ISO performance] and managed to turn it into a source of ridicule/annoyance. I suppose there is a peculiar sort of talent in that - but I'd puzzle over who would see it as an asset.
Some say that the D4s lives in a hedgerow, coming out at night only to take photographs of the dark side of the moon. Others claim that the extraordinary ISO capability is a side-issue, as it actually means that the sensor performs exceptionally well at 6400 and at 3200 returns images that are very acceptable in the test shots.

My car will reach 165mph, but it's not a speed I aspire to. It's a lot of fun on good country roads though.

Give someone in marketing an extreme to play with and they'll just tell everyone.

What I'd actually like to see is the same settings used for the entire series of shots under reducing light conditions instead of faster shutter speeds and changing apertures.
