Nikon has taken the prize for ‘European Professional D-SLR Camera 2014-2015’ for its flagship full frame camera, the Nikon D4S.
The announcement adds to Nikon’s awards success at this year’s TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) awards, where Nikon won four accolades including ‘Best D-SLR Professional’, also for the Nikon D4S.
Dirk Jasper, Product Manager, Nikon Europe, says: "The D4S is the pinnacle of our D-SLR range and represents the best of everything that we do here at Nikon. It’s built to keep professional photographers ahead of their game so everything about it is designed to power exceptional images at exceptional speed. We’re delighted that the camera has won these awards from EISA and TIPA."
Each year, EISA nominates the best equipment from different categories of audio-visual products released in Europe during the preceding 12 months. It recognises those products that will be appreciated by an enthusiast and professional audience who want high quality and creative features. The awards are chosen by panels representing over 50 prominent photo, video, audio, home theatre and mobile electronics magazines from up to 20 European countries.
The EISA judges said: "Launching two years after the Nikon D4, the Nikon D4S may look almost the same from the outside as the D4 but internally there have been many improvements. The new EXPEED 4 processor has enabled the introduction of a phenomenal ISO sensitivity range of up to ISO 409600, and an exceptional 11 frames per second with focus tracking. In addition, the improved 51-point autofocus and D-Movie functionality make the D4S much more usable than its predecessor. Overall, extensive testing by the EISA Expert Team has shown the Nikon D4s to be a worthy winner of the Professional D-SLR Camera of the Year."
