Nikon D5000Press Release:

Nikon’s D5000, the powerful and versatile DSLR with innovative Vari-angle LCD monitor, has won a prestigious DIWA Gold Award.

During testing of the D5000, members were particularly impressed by its ease-of-use, the convenient Vari-angle LCD monitor which allows users to shoot from any angle, and the ability to shoot in HD video; all in addition to capturing quality Nikon stills.

The organisation of industry experts at the Digital Imaging Websites Association (DIWA) submit digital imaging products to extensive reviews, with testing carried out both in the DIWA Labs, and through evaluation of more than 200 different criteria by DIWA members across nine member countries.

Jordi Brinkman, Product Manager at Nikon Europe B.V., comments: “We are delighted to see the D5000 achieve this well-respected Gold award. The D5000 brings high-end technologies to a wider range of consumers and offers a range of innovative user-friendly features such as HD video and the Vari-angle monitor. It’s a great choice for those who want to capture all of life’s important moments, and want superior image quality for their stills and their videos, and we’re really pleased it has gained this recognition from DIWA as a result.

DIWA comments: “The Nikon D5000 knows how to stand out from most compact DSLR cameras thanks to its innovative image technology and user ease. The convenient Vari-angle LCD monitor allows users to shoot from any angle, and Live View mode gives digital photography an extra dimension. The Nikon D5000 managed to convince the DIWA jury simply by its superior image quality, innovative functionality and user-friendliness.
