Nikon J1 And V1 Hit The Shelves - Eager gadget fans queued from the early hours of this morning to get their hands on a Nikon J1 or V1.

Jargon Buster: Off
Many photographers braved the cool October temperatures this morning so they could be among the first in the UK to own a Nikon J1 or V1. Some began queuing at 4am outside the Jessops Store on The Strand, London and the first customer who got their hands on a Nikon 1 V1 was Barry Curry, from Walthamstow, who said: "I’ve bought the camera for my son who’s really into photography. He’s got big ambitions as a photographer, so I wanted to get him the best camera possible to set him on his way."

The Nikon 1 J1 is available in high-gloss white, matt black, high-gloss red, silver and hot pink. The Nikon 1 V1 is available in high-gloss white and matt black.
The Nikon 1 J1 is available for £549.99 and comes complete with built-in flash and 10-30mm zoom lens, and the Nikon 1 V1 will be available in a kit with the new 10-30mm zoom for £829.99.
