Nikon J2 Hands-On Preview

The Nikon 1 J2, an update to the Nikon 1 J1,  is now available in orange, dark red, white, black, pink, and grey. The Nikon 1 J2 has a more compact 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, as well as a waterproof case.






The new 11-27.5mm lens is very compact, almost as small as the 10mm pancake lens, and when mounted on the J2, you begin to understand why Nikon released this lens, as it makes the most of the compact body.  



There's a new "Creative" mode on the dial which can actually be set to a number of things, including P/A/S/M modes so that you can go directly into the preferred manual shooting mode. Other creative effects available on this include easy panoramic, night landscape, night portrait, backlighting, soft, miniature effect and selective colour.

Nikon 1 Series J2 - this shows the 10-30mm lens on the new orange J2, and the 11-2.5mm on the white J2.

Announced with the J2 is a new underwater housing the WP-N1 - it's waterproof to 40 metres and allows full control of the camera, including the use of optical zoom.
