Nikon UK president Michio Miwa has announced his departure.

Mr Miwa will be leaving the company at the end of September 2012 to take up another assignment.

Mr Miwa joined Nikon UK in July 2007 and has completed over five years of successful service. During his time here, the company has achieved dramatic growth in the imaging market with significant increases in both sales and market share, despite facing major challenges including the UK economic recession, and two natural disasters in Japan and Thailand.

Mr Miwa is to be thanked for his leadership and commitment to Nikon UK, and everyone at the company wishes him the very best of luck for the future.

Mr Hidehiko Tanaka will replace Mr Miwa as President for Nikon UK and will take his post in mid- September to attend Photokina (Europe’s largest photographic event) and to meet some of the company’s key customers and stakeholders.
