Just one of the spectacular photos on display by John Gravett.
A renowned photographer is launching an exhibition entitled ‘There’s no such thing as bad weather - only different types of lighting’ in the Lake District this Summer.
John Gravett, one of the most respected landscape photographers in the UK, is showcasing over 30 images at the unique exhibition and rather than focusing on sunny scenes, his photographs capture the spectacular Lake District made even more dramatic and breath-taking by the very harshest of weather conditions.
Inspired by John’s belief that the Cumbrian landscape is at its most glorious in more severe conditions, the exhibition images feature rain, cloud, mist, storms, sleet and snow and while the weather in the picture might not be pretty, the Lake District scene captured is consistently awe-inspiring.
'There’s no such thing as bad weather – only different types of lighting' will be on show in the Circle Gallery at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick from the 3rd to the 31st of July 2013.
John Gravett is recognized as one of Britain's foremost landscape photographers and photographic tutors and this is his latest body of landscape work to have been made available for public viewing.
John owns and runs Lakeland Photographic Holidays, offering a range of themed photography workshops, dedicated tuition, thoughtful accommodation and mouth-watering food for everyone from complete beginners to outright photography experts.
