Nokia has announced what it is calling a breakthrough in photography, with a 41 megapixel sensor, it uses pixel binning to create higher quality images, which, it says have less noise and greater detail, with better low light performance. Taking photos at lower resolution also enables loss-less zoom, as well as up to 4x zoom while recording Full HD video. Visit Nokia's website for more information on how the technology works.

1/1.2 inch sensor? That's massive for a mobile 'phone - much bigger than any zoom compact camera, if it's correct. And all those pixels?!
