The Ocean in Focus Conservation Photography Contest hosted by the Project AWARE Foundation and SeaWeb takes aim at the rapid decline of our ocean’s health and challenges photographers worldwide to point their cameras towards engaging ocean conservation–themed imagery. Inspiring, high-quality images that deliver powerful conservation messages and help illuminate the challenges facing our ocean will be accepted through September 30, 2008.
Contestants are vying for a Grand Prize package worth more than $2,000, that includes: a seven-night stay at Plaza Resort Bonaire; a $250 gift certificate to Backscatter Underwater Video and Photo; 16 tons of carbon offsets from NativeEnergy and more. Prizes will also be awarded for first and second place in two contest categories: Species of Concern/Ecosystem Decline and Humans and the Ocean: Impacts and Solutions.
