Olympus has announced the launch of the new Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO lens. The lens is dust proof, freeze proof and splash proof, like the Olympus OM-D E-M1 it accompanies.
It is a constant f/2.8 aperture zoom lens, and Olympus say it will have better image quality than Zuiko Digital High Grade Lenses.
The lens features a manual focus clutch mechanism, as well as the ability to shoot tele macro images with a minimum shooting distance of 20cm. It features a ZERO coating helping to minimise ghosting and flare.
Olympus has also announced the development of the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 40-150mm f/2.8 ED PRO lens, which will be ideal for capturing professional quality shots of moving subjects. It is set to be released by the end of 2014.
