Olympus recently demonstrated the weather sealed Olympus OM-D E-M1 and remote operation. The Olympus OM-D E-M1 is designed to be a compact system camera with high image quality and a compact and weather sealed body that means you can take it anywhere and capture the World's events regardless of weather conditions. The remote Wi-Fi operation is particularly useful for shooting in locations where you wouldn't want to be, such as in the middle of a lake, as shown here.

Controlled with an iPad, the new OI.Share app lets you control aperture, shutter speed and live bulb. Using the Olympus OM-D E-M1 with an iPad Mini, it was possible to remotely control the camera, change settings, and get this shot, shooting at 6.5fps continuous shooting, with continuous AF active.

The remote shooting app also lets you add geotags to your photos, by transferring the GPS log acquired by your smartphone. It also gives the option to apply art filters to images you have already taken.

The body features 60 gasket rings for maximum protection, and is said to feature better weather sealing than the Olympus E-5. The body is made with a magnesium body as can be seen below, and is freezeproof down to -10C, dustproof, and water-resistant. If you need full water proofing for use under water, there is an optional underwater case - specially customised for the E-M1 and waterproof to 45 metres.
