Olympus has launched a firmware update for its OM-D E-M5 mirrorless camera.
Update version 1.6 fixes two main issues. The highlight and shadow function was modified so that exposure settings are applied correctly at ISO 2000 or higher, and the issue that occasionally prevented operations during long exposures has been fixed.
The update is available to download at the Olympus website
Olympus has also released a statement about which of their OM-D E-M5 cameras are affected with an issue which causes the screen bezel to crack.
Only the cameras with the following serial numbers are affected:
Black: BEH501001 - BEH517447 for cameras sold in Japan, and BEK501001 – BEK508887 for cameras sold in Europe.
Silver: BF2501001 - BF2510258 for cameras sold in Japan, and BF4501001 – BF4503865 for cameras sold in Europe.
Olympus has stressed that the crack does not affect the function or performance of any aspect of the camera.
