What's retro?
It could be fashion - clothing, shoes - Oxfam vintage shop window. Hair style - 40s weekend
Architecture - shoot some old building - maybe against new. Interior shot of a preserved house
Transport - old bus, vintage car, motorcycle, steam train - Critch transport museum, York etc
Gadget - old Bakelite item from car boot, old games machine
Vinyl, 8 track, gramophone records etc
Or it could be concept - looking back
That's a few ideas off the top of my head.
There are loads of events for this type of thing up and down the country but if you're stuck museums will be a good source of ideas.
