Olympus has got some great workshops and events coming up for you to attend in February.
These are listed below:
1 Feb 2014: Introduction To DSLR Cameras, Windsor, Slough
Modern DSLR and Micro Four Thirds cameras can appear complex to the uninitiated, leaving you spending more time worrying about the various settings and options, than the actual image you are trying to capture. Robert Pugh’s introductory course will ensure you get the most out of your camera and leave with the confidence to step away from automatic mode.
2 Feb 2014: OM-D Streetwalk, Camden Lock
Creative photography in the cityscape with pro photographer Robert Pugh. This workshop or ‘streetwalk’ is suitable for beginners and experienced photographers alike, and is dedicated to Olympus micro four thirds users, giving OM-D and PEN owners the chance to ask a professional for Olympus specific tips and advice. Learn how to give your photography an urban edge with stylised candid street photography whilst learning more about your camera and your own creativity. Organisers will also carry a selection of the latest lenses on the streetwalk allowing you to try them out on your own camera, on top of that, all course attendees will be given a £50 voucher redeemable against selected Olympus kit.
2 Feb 2014: London by Night OM-D Streetwalk
London night life can provide you with some inspirational photographic subjects, but can also present some interesting challenges for the photographer and the OM-D. On this Night Streetwalk with professional photographer Robert Pugh, you will be learning how to capture vibrant images under a range of low light conditions. The course starts on the onset of “Magic Hour” (around 10 minutes after sunset) by looking at Camera settings, ISO and white balance.
8 Feb 2014: Speedlight 101 with Damian McGillicuddy
Let photographic Grand Master and Olympus Ambassador Damian McGillicuddy help you realise your own potential and that of your speedlight in this essential lighting course.
Learn to manipulate, modify and control your speedlights both ‘on’ and ‘off’ camera. Gain the knowledge that will let you make your speedlight the most creative tool in your camera bag. Being able to control and bend light to your creative will is one of the great secrets of the trade that will help you make your photography stand out from the crowd. Off camera flash (OCF) can seem scary and as if it is a hidden dark art, but with the right guidance, learning the art is straight forward and dare we say, easy.
21 Feb 2014: Urban Kids
Join Damian McGillicuddy and his team and learn to light, pose and control your imagery for edgy, fashion-based child portraiture.
This workshop is for any photographer at any level, from novice to pro who has an understanding of shutter speeds and apertures, along with core camera craft. This workshop is aimed at those photographers who simply want to improve both the quality of, and the ease of, capturing great child photography with a contemporary commercial twist which today’s more visually astute parents will adore.
