The Osmo Leaker Pro app produces light leak style images. Light leak is caused by holes or gaps in a camera body therefore leaking light and exposing film or sensors to this extra light. Although it is a problem, it is seen by some as a positive effect, resulting in unusual photos.

To recreate this effect on the iPhone, you can use the Osmo Leaker app. There is a free version, but if you want to save full size images, more filters and a go back option you need the pro app, available from the iTunes Store for £0.69.

When you launch the app you are presented with a mostly grey screen with 5 buttons representing various options. Firstly there is the camera button. If you prefer, you can set the app to open with the camera, rather than the grey screen. The second button allows you to open photos from your library, with the third changing the light leak effect. They are applied completely randomly, so you need to keep pressing until you come to the one you prefer.

The fourth button is all about sharing, with options for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, email and photo library. The last button is settings, it's a good idea to head here first so you can save your images in their full size if desired. You can also ask the app to save the original photo as well, ideal if you use the app to take pictures.

The app is easy to use, but the effects are applied randomly, so you can't see the full range available.

If you are a fan of light leak photos and want to create your own on the iPhone, this app is good. The effect isn't likely to appeal to the majority and it's a shame the effects are applied completely randomly. You can download the free version and if you enjoy it and want to save in full resolution, upgrading for £0.69 isn't much to pay.
