Panasonic Lumix 3D1

The new Panasonic Lumix 3D1 is a new compact camera from Panasonic, it features a twin lens, twin sensor, allowing both photos and video to be recorded at the same time (photo size is 8 megapixels), also available wide/zoom photos at the same time, 25mm wide angle 4x optical zoom lens, large 3.5 inch touch screen (not 3D). The camera uses two 12.1 megapixel Live MOS sensors and allows continuous shooting at full resolution at 8fps.

Key Features:

  • 12.1 megapixel Live MOS sensor
  • 4x optical zoom lens, 25-100mm equivalent
  • Full HD video recording, with stereo sound and optical zoom
  • Video and Photo Shooting at the same time
  • 8fps Continuous Shooting
  • 3.5inch touch screen
  • 3D Shooting
  • HDMI out
The screen on the back isn't 3D, and instead Panasonic recommend using the HDMI output to connect the camera to a 3D TV. The camera uses a lithium ion rechargeable battery, which is said to give 200 shots battery life. There is a physical switch on the back to quickly switch between the 2D and 3D modes.

Panasonic Lumix 3D1 Front

The camera is switched on/off using the front sliding cover, revealing two lenses, built in flash, and focus assist lamp.

Panasonic Lumix 3D1 Top

On top in a traditional on/off button, stereo microphones, speaker, shutter release with zoom control, and dedicated video button.

Panasonic Lumix 3D1 Back

The back is dominated by the large 3.5 inch touch screen, and looking at this you'd think it was just a normal compact camera with a large screen - but instead they've managed to fit 2 lenses and sensors in the camera to enable 3D shooting.

Panasonic Lumix 3D1 Front Off
The camera will be available in December, for more information have a look at the full Panasonic Lumix 3D1 announcement.
