New trousers from Paramo - Páramo’s new Pájaro trousers join nature watching range.
Páramo have designed new waterproof legwear to complement their Pájaro and Halcon country jackets. The Pájaro trousers provide excellent weatherproofing and warmth, ideal for wildlife watchers and landscape photographers, and also suitable for any outdoor users who are often stationary in cold and wet conditions. With generous cargo pocketing, the Pájaro trousers offer a really comfortable and practical all day alternative to having to carry waterproof overtrousers and struggle to pull them on and off.
Since the successful introduction of their Pájaro Jacket in 2006, Páramo has been inundated with requests to increase the wildlife watching range of clothing. The Pájaro trousers will offer all the benefits of unique Nikwax Analogy fabric with styling and features ideal for the nature watcher and outdoor photographer. Páramo’s equivalent waterproof trousers for walkers, the Cascada Trousers, have won many awards and accolades since their launch over a decade ago – culminating in March this year with readers of walk magazine, the official magazine of the Ramblers, voting Páramo ‘Best Walking Trousers’.
The new Pájaro Trousers use Nikwax Analogy fabric, renowned for its ability to keep water out and remove perspiration more effectively without the use of membranes, coatings or laminates. The result is soft, supple and quiet legwear, comfortable enough to keep on all day. The waterproofing is easily renewable with Nikwax aftercare, is not compromised by puncture and its durability belies its soft feel. The result is a pair of trousers that will give comfort on the hills and in hides for many years, representing an environmentally sound investment.
Páramo waterproofs and fleeces were recently awarded ‘Best Buy’ status by the highly respected Ethical Consumer magazine, the only garment manufacturer worldwide to be so identified. This accolade acknowledges Páramo’s commitment to minimising environmental impact as well as their long term manufacturing partnership with the charitable Miquelina Foundation in Bogotá, Colombia, where all profits benefit ‘at risk’ women who work for the Foundation and their children.
The styling and features of the Pájaro Trousers make them ideal for a huge range of activities. Careful articulation around the knee area gives unrestricted leg movement. The adjustable waist and belt provide a comfortable fit, with a zip fly for ease of pulling on. There are two zipped hip pockets for handwarming and secure storage plus one generous bellows cargo pocket on the thigh to carry large items such as a field guide or map, with fold over top and secure popper closure.
Visitors to the Rutland BirdFair will be the first to see and buy the new Pájaro Trousers - from the Páramo stand situated in Marquee 4, stands 69-71. This, the world’s largest bird fair, held at Egleton Nature Reserve, Rutland Water from 21-23 August, is the perfect arena for the launch of this legwear.
Wildlife and outdoor photography enthusiasts can also buy Páramo online – the ‘Naturally Páramo’ website at naturallyparamo.co.uk offers the whole range of Páramo in muted colours and gives the opportunity to learn more about how Naturally Páramo garments combine unrivalled performance with consideration for the environment and ethical production.
