Pentax add another 35mm SLR to their range -
The
Pentax 35 mm single-lens reflex cameras enjoy a great reputation among photography
enthusiasts. The Pentax SLR series impresses with its robust construction, the
extremely user-friendly features, the high image quality and the wide selection
of models for the most varied requirements. With the MZ-60, being shown for the
first time at the PMA 2002, Pentax presents an attractive starter camera with
impressive features at a good price. The extremely compact size of the MZ-60 goes along with the elegant body design in silver and black. The camera has innovative features such as Pentax "Picture Modes" for rapid and simple changeovers between six different photo programs (standard, portrait, landscape, close-up, action and night scene). Once set, the camera automatically picks out the optimum setting for the program being used. With automatic exposure, it is also possible to choose between aperture priority and shutter priority.
The precise "SAFOX V" autofocus system on the MZ-60 guarantees rapid and simple focusing on any subject. The built-in automatic flash is activated as soon as the lighting is no longer optimum. Additionally, the camera has a "red-eye reduction" function, which is very useful when using the flash. The generously dimensioned LCD display on the top of the camera gives a rapid and comprehensive overview of its current status, while the display incorporated in the viewfinder also reproduces the most important information for the picture currently being taken.
The manual exposure and the B setting make for an ideal tool for creative photography. The MZ-60 Quartz Date imprints the photo with information on when the picture was taken.
Weighing only 325 g, the Pentax MZ-60 is a fitting addition to the Pentax MZ range and will be available in the spring of 2002.
