Pentax expand binocular range with three sets of new models

Compact, lightweight UCF R series added to line of Porro-Prism binoculars
Pentax announce two UCF R-series models - the 8x21 UCF R and 10x21 UCF R - to their already-extensive porro-prism binocular lineup. Combining high-resolution optics with fashionable, streamlined bodies, these compact, lightweight models offer comfortable viewing and outstanding portability in a wide range of casual observations, both indoors and outdoors.

Offering a choice of 8x or 10x magnification, the new UCF R-series models combine the Pentax-developed dual-axis eye-distance adjustment system for precise alignment of the lens barrels, high-refraction BaK4 glass prisms, multi-coated optical elements and aspherical eyepiece lens elements to deliver high-quality images, even under poor viewing conditions. Their compact, lightweight bodies are encased in a protective rubber housing for extra protection against dust and shock. Other user-friendly features include a short minimum focusing distance of approx. 2.8 meters/9.2 feet, extendible eyepiece rings and a diopter adjuster with a click-stop center pointer.

Pentax unveils newly designed FB Lite series of ultra-compact roof-prism binoculars
Pentax introduce two FB Lite-series pocket-sized roof-prism binoculars - the FB-7 Lite and FB-9 Lite. Featuring a fashionable dual-color design and ultra-compact, go-anywhere dimensions, these new models inherit all the user-friendly features of their popular predecessors, the current FB-7 Lite and FB-9 Lite, including a comfortable 4:3 rectangular image area. Offering outstanding cost performance, they are great partners for casual outings, such as concerts and stage performances.

Measuring only 95mm wide, 64mm high and 26.5mm thick (3.7 x 2.5 x 1.0 inches) and weighing a mere 148 grams (5.2 oz.), the new FB Lite-series models fit comfortably in a shirt pocket or small purse. Offering a choice of 7x or 9x magnification, they are encased in attractive silver-and-grey bodies ergonomically designed to enhance holding comfort and ease of operation. Their horizontally extended 4:3 rectangular image area assures comfortable viewing with minimal eye fatigue. Combining the accessible center-focusing system with high-performance optics incorporating multi-coated optical elements and aspherical eyepiece lens elements, they produce sharp, clear images even at indoor concert halls and theaters. Other user-friendly features include Pentax's original sliding eye-distance adjustment system, a short minimum focusing distance of 1.8 meters/5.9 feet and an easy operated diopter adjuster.

Featuring high-resolution optics and encased in fiber-reinforced plastic bodies with JIS Class 6 waterproof construction, these high-performance models are the perfect choice for a wide variety of specialized, heavy-duty applications on and around the water - especially for bird watching at the waterside.

Offering a choice of 8x or 10x magnification, the new DCF XP-series models are housed in nitrogen-filled, fiber-reinforced waterproof bodies (JIS Class 6) and protected with full-body rubber housings. Featuring a compact, lightweight body design and long eye relief - 20mm for the 8x33 and 18mm for the 10x33 - they allow for fatigue-free viewing even during extended observations. Thanks to the incorporation of an inner-focus system, high-resolution phase-coated roof prisms and multi-coated optical elements, they deliver exceptional image quality even under poor viewing conditions. They also come equipped with such user-friendly features as an extra-short minimum focusing distance of 1.5 meters/4.9 feet, a diopter adjuster with a click-stop lock mechanism and helicoid-type extendible eyepiece rings.
