Press Release:

Pentax LogoPentax is planning to move its European headquarters for the imaging systems business to Paris. The main reason for this move is the strong position of Pentax in the French camera market, but also the fact that a number of important trade partners for the international camera business have their operations in Paris. Pentax plans to have the new European headquarters operational from October.

As part of the reorganisation, Pentax plans to fully outsource all camera after-sales activities to third parties from June. This is the next step in increased cooperation with third party service specialists.

Whilst the European headquarters is relocating, the business for the UK will be handled by the same team as usual and business operations will remain unchanged.

Commenting on the reorganisation Marilyn Dixon, head of marketing for Pentax Imaging Systems, said: “The digital camera market has changed significantly over recent months and we’re changing our company to reflect those market conditions.  It remains an exciting time for the Pentax business.  Our recently launched X70 bridge camera is proving a real hit with our trade partners and we have a host of new products lined up for the next 12 months that we’re confident will inspire the market.
