Pentax introduce ultra-thin 40mm lens for their digital SLRs - Limited edition pancake style lens announced
Designed in line with Pentax’s developmental concept for the exclusive “Limited Lens” series, this standard lens assures exceptional image quality, with high contrast, high resolution, great sense of depth, and minimal aberrations. Sporting a sophisticated appearance incorporating an aluminum-made lens barrel, hood and cap, it offers a natural perspective close to the naked eye with its 40mm focal length (equivalent to 61mm in the 35mm format), a large maximum aperture of f/2.8, and a minimum focusing distance of 40 centimeters.
This new lens also features the Pentax-original Quick-Shift Focus System for instant switching to manual-focus operation, a nine-blade diaphragm to assure true-to-life reproduction of out-of-focus areas, and filter-attachment versatility (a 49mm-size filter on the lens or a 30.5mm-size filter on the lens hood).
Combining exceptional maneuverability and portability with top-grade image reproduction, the new smc Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8 Limited is an ideal everyday-use standard lens that performs superbly in a great range of applications, including snapshots, portraiture, indoor shooting and landscape photography.
