Pentax Optio 60
Pentax have announced the launch of the Optio 60, the latest in their Optio range which aims to make digital photography available to everyone.
Combining all the benefits of a digital with a compact and user-friendly form, the Optio 60 features six effective megapixels, 2.0 inch LCD screen and a 3x optical zoom (equivalent to a 36-108mm lens in 35mm format), which provides the photographer with the freedom to zoom out to shoot expansive scenery or zoom in for tightly composed portraits. With 4x digital zoom the Optio 60 offers the user a combined zoom capability of 12x.
The 2.0 inch LCD screen, with approximately 130,000 pixels, provides quick and easy image composition and playback. A simple mode also allows the user to focus fully on the subject whilst automatically adjusting all the optical settings for the best possible picture. Other features of the Pentax Optio 60 include a broad range of shooting modes, easily accessible by a mode dial, including still image, movie shooting and digital effects. Users are also able to achieve sharper images due to the incorporation of two high-quality lenses and the Optio 60's primary colour filter meaning that high resolution images with vivid colours are easily achievable.
A Standard Output Sensitivity selection, compromising 64, 100 and 200, as well as an auto setting, makes it easy to adjust the Optio 60 for shooting in different lighting conditions. The Optio 60 also features an optical viewfinder offering actual image zoom, making picture composition easy, and diopter adjustment, which assures a clearer view for users with a difference in eyesight. An added advantage of the optical viewfinder is that the photographer can switch off the LCD screen as appropriate, which enables a longer battery life.
The Optio 60 has a compact and lightweight design, with dimensions of 91 (W) x 61 (H) x 38 (D), and weighs just 150 grams. Designed for use with widely available AA batteries, the Optio 60 is both stylish and convenient and easy to use.
The Optio 60 is suitable for photographers of all levels and experience, and will appeal to those looking to enter into digital photography as much as it will to those looking to upgrade to the next digital level.
Other features of the Optio 60 are:
1) PictBridge compatible for direct printing without a PC
