| Grab the bull by the horns and find what might be taking up your time within the speed of your workflow. |
For so many people the first year in business is a huge learning curve, and for most of us in business we often build our empires on a tight budget and in those first early years every penny counts, and that I can certainly appreciate from building a business myself on a very tight budget. One aspect I would however invest in is your digital workflow procedure as it is at the hub of your business, and can easily rob you of valuable time.
So many underestimate how much time is required within this area and how devoting too much time impacts in so many other aspects of the business and life beyond the business. I suspect this is not the first time you have read these heart felt words of warning, so many have written articles of this nature and the reasons are simple - your time is valuable with a high price tag attached. So where possible research the methods that might rescue your photographic perfection and just as important, your time.
As the procedures you have within the business are so precious you have to be at the bottom of what always matters most with regard to ensuring developments happen. If you feel the business is in danger of under development, grab the bull by the horns and take huge strides to find what might be stealing your time within the speed of your workflow.
Every moment matters and when you are the solo operator you have to give careful thought to how you work, operate and how effective you are as the production worker managing all the digital workflow.
If you are reading this feature wondering how you are going to get through the summer, start talking to your photography friends and discover whether they have any approaches they might share with you. If you are short of some photography friends I can direct you towards some of mine!
So grasp the digital flow, protect your time.
