Verdict

We have previously reviewed the iPhone and Photoshop Plug-in versions of Perfectly Clear, now there is an iPad version, which offers unique features such as Skin Tone Correction, and a histogram. The app is available from the iTunes store for £3.99.
You may decide you are happy with the default settings, but you can either pick from the presets, or edit to your own preference by changing the tint correction, exposure, vibrance, sharpen and noise removal, using the sliders. You can move the sliding scale from left to right to compare before and after shots. Images can then be saved to camera roll or shared via Facebook, Twitter and email.

Below are examples using each of the presets available. Using the portrait preset has made the dull, grey looking original much better with a clear improvement in skin tone and hair colour. Noise removal has done a good job, with the resulting image also having improved contrast and exposure. The landscape preset has given a significant boost in the greens and blues and the tint removal preset has removed most of the strong magenta cast in our white-balance test shot. Lastly, the fix dark preset has rescued detail in the building and foreground.
Easy to use
New Skin Tone Correction works well
Images can be saved at orignal resolution
Great at rescuing under exposed images
Occasional crashing
The Perfectly Clear HD iPad App is available from the iTunes Store for £3.99. For more information please visit the Athentech Imaging website.

Perfectly Clear HD iPad App Review Performance
Although the iPad version looks slightly different to the iPhone and Photoshop plug-in versions, they are all quite similar to use. When you open an image, the app works on your image straight away. The app has been tested on iPad 1, and there is some occasional crashing, due to a lack of memory. You may decide you are happy with the default settings, but you can either pick from the presets, or edit to your own preference by changing the tint correction, exposure, vibrance, sharpen and noise removal, using the sliders. Perfectly Clear HD iPad App Review Verdict
Both the Photoshop plug-in and iPhone app have both scored four out of five, the iPad version is just as good and therefore also scores a four. Editing images on the iPad is generally a good experience and the Perfectly Clear app makes it easy to quickly improve your images, whether they have been shot on the iPad, iPhone or with your digital camera. It is particularly good for those who aren't good with Photoshop, and at £3.99, it should be part of every photographers range of iPad editing apps.![]() |
