Press Release:

Photo-shield logoFrom 1st April 2009, Photo-shield have launched their new payment option for photographers in Ireland; 0% Direct Debit!

Anyone taking out a policy from 1st April onwards will be offered the option to pay the premium by 0% direct debit. This will be done by taking the premium in 10 equal instalments over the first 10 months of the policy, giving policyholders a 2 month payment holiday before it becomes renewable. No deposit needed either!

Speaking on behalf of Photo-shield, Senior Account Executive Steve Beveridge said, “we have been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had from the professional photographers in Ireland towards our policy, but we’ve been unable to offer a payment option other than annually. We’ve been working hard to set up an alternative payment option and are pleased to offer interest free direct debit!” Steve went on to say that all those currently insured with Photo-shield would be offered the option to switch their policy to 0% at renewal, so no-one need feel they aren’t able to take advantage of the offer.

And Photo-shield have also been busy improving the levels of cover they now offer and now provide Public Liability at a standard €6.5m and Professional Indemnity cover at €75,000. Talking to Steve, he explained, “we are aware, following conversations with existing policyholders and other professional photographers, of the need to have that level in Ireland as a requirement. As an insurer who monitors changes in the market so we can adapt to them, we decided to put our cover at this level as standard to assist our Ireland policyholders and avoid them losing any work as a result of not having it or having to pay an additional premium to raise it up to that.” When asked if the raise in the level of cover would mean an increase in premiums Steve was happy to confirm that the insuring company, Sterling Insurance, had agreed to raise the level with minimal increase to the cost of the cover. And, as Steve goes on to point out, Photo-shield are now offering the option to pay premiums by 0% direct debit, so any extra cost is spread over the 10 equal instalments they take to pay the policy!

With regards the introduction of the Professional Indemnity as a standard €75,000 Steve said “It is something we have been asked a number of times, and while we have always been able to offer a choice of levels, again, following consultation with our existing clients and seeing how the world is changing, we decided to provide this as a standard level of cover which would ensure clients are covered more than adequately.
