Photographic courses - Do you want to brush-up on your photographic skills or learn a new trick or two to better your photography? Well here's a few of the great photographic courses out there what can help you on your way.

Even the best photographer needs a little help sometimes and with the hundreds of photographic courses that are on offer we are certainly not short of places to go to for advice. It doesn't matter if you're looking for wedding photography advice, tips on how to improve your portraits or even an adventure under the sea, there's a course for everybody.

 

Annabel Williams Contemporary Photographic Training:
Annabel Williams is known worldwide and her team have a fantastic reputation for business development education and training programmes.
 
Learn to create images like this.
Their training programmes cover all aspects of photography and are designed to reach a wide range of photographers which includes newcomers to the industry as well as the pros. There are five levels within the training programme which starts with Getting Started with Your Camera and goes right through to more specialised seminars which include Making Women Look Fantastic in Lingerie and Business Advice. This summer there's also the Realise Your Potential course which willl have you working and thinking as a successful photographer within three days!
 
If you're looking for longer tuition there's also the Bespoke programme which involves Catherine and Jane becoming part of your business life for 12 months.

Lakeland Photographic Holidays:
Lakeland Photographic Holidays have been established for 20 years and they offer photographers, of all ages and all photographic abilities, an idyllic environment in which to pursue their hobby and relax with their family and friends.

Mark Cleghorn photography Training:
If you're looking for inside information on the day-to-day photography techniques of a top portrait photographer then why not enroll on one of Mark Cleghorn's courses. You can learn how to shoot portraits, weddings, fashion photos, glamour or nudes and classes are either location or studio based. Whether you're a beginner looking for some basic tips or a more experienced photographer wanting to that next step, the workshops will be perfect for you and are designed to help you improve your shooting skills dramatically.

Open College of the Arts:
If you don't have the time to go on a day-long workshop but still want to learn photography why not enrole on an Open College of the Arts course. They are a non-profit making charity (affiliated to The Open University) offering seven courses of which you can study at your own pace.

You can learn the art of photography, be introduced to digital photography or focus on one of the particular subjects offered by the college.
 
You can work from home, start the course at any time and their tutors are practising photographers who offer postal tuition and advice. There are no entry requirements, no age restrictions and the courses also carry optional higher education credit points which can be put towards higher qualifications.

Photo4x4:
Photographic adventures in the Northern Scottish Highlands. Out and about in Europe's last wilderness in 4x4 Jeep Wrangler getting right to the very best places to take your photos and with loads of room to stow your kit. Photographer guide Keith Hart is a professional photographer with extensive local knowledge and a enthusiasm for the history, geography and wildlife of the area.
 
Take your photographs of the Highlands in comfort
The courses run all year round and you get to see areas tourists can't get to in Photo4x4's Land Rover. Courses are for a maximum of two people and run for 1-3 days.

Photo-Courses:
Photo-Courses are famous for their Big Cat experiences where you can get close to big cats in the UK's largest private collection without the need to shoot through bars but they also have courses designed to improve your wedding, landscape or portrait photography too.

Welshot Imaging:
Welshot Imaging is run by photographers for photographers. It's a photographic academy, agency and library all rolled into one.

Based in Anglesey, North Wales, Welshot Imaging has workshops for landscape and sea lovers as well as classes and courses on wedding photography, image retouching and action photography. Not all the courses take place in Anglesey and prices and course lengths are varied.

Chris Hanley:
Top portrait and wedding photographer, Chris Hanley runs bespoke one on one training courses.
 
He offers training in all aspects of photography. He can demonstrate how to recreate images like them, take you on an urban portrait shoot, give you a better understanding of your equipment or teach you simple Photoshop techniques.

Nigel Wilson Workshops:
A practising professional, Nigel Wilson has been running weekend photographic courses since 2002. He runs weekend, travel and night photographic courses, in London, Manchester and, increasingly, further afield.

His weekend course attracts the highest numbers of students and aims to teach people how to feel confident using an SLR. The weekend course is an intensive and comprehensive workshop which aims to transform the quality of your photographs. The travel course that he runs is more of an intermediate level and covers critique and more advance features such as bracketing and exposure compensation. Nigel also runs a course for those who want to take better photographs without having to know how a DSLR works and an night shoot workshop where clients spend an evening photographing along the river.

Brook School of Photography:
The Brook School of Photography offer short photography courses and 1-5 day workshop diplomas in portrait and wedding photography. Theory, Photoshop and shoots with models are all done in their fully equipped working studio while their two wedding shoots are done on location.

The courses and seminars are designed for a keen amateur who is looking to develop their hobby into a profitable business. Courses run from one day to one week and tuition on all aspects of commercial photography is offered.
 
Paul Brook BA Hons, ARPS studied at the prestigious Arts Institute, Bournemouth, and Sinar in Switzerland and as well as a degree in photography Paul also has his professional qualifying examination (PQE) from The British Institute of Professional Photographers (BIPP).

Northlight Images:
Northlight Images cover two main areas with their location based commercial training - both are relatively uncommon in photo training. One is teaching property photography to Estate Agents
and other property professionals. The other main area is Product Photography, particularly aimed at small businesses who are starting to sell on the web.

Ocean Visions:
Maria Munn has eight years experience of taking photographs underwater and now she wants to share her knowledge with you. Designed for those who want to learn how to use their camera in a mode other than automatic, Maria will use her experience to help you create amazing photographs.
 
The courses are held at their classrooms in Bromley, Action Underwater TV Studios in Essex as well as in Leeds, Oxford and Salisbury. The venue in Bromley is the only teaching facility based in the UK which is dedicated to teaching underwater photography. They even have an indoor pool which features an artificial reef full of fish, wrecks, sharks and turtles to practice your composition skills.
