New to the brochure this year the Emperor Penguin Safari is the only expedition that can reach the recently discovered 4,000 pair colony near Snow Hill Island so early in the season. The boat used, the Kapitan Khlebnikov, is capable of cutting through the spectacular icy seascape like no other vessel, an exhilarating experience in itself. Passengers are then dropped a short distance from the colony by helicopter to watch them feed, toboggan and cajole their young for a truly top drawer wildlife experience.

Those looking to capture their polar experience on camera might like to join one of the two special charters. One of these is the photographic expedition to Antarctica, the Falklands and South Georgia led by award winning photographer Paul Goldstein.
