Olympus and DUNDU

Olympus will be holding the 'ultimate shoot-off' at this year's photokina which runs from 18 – 23 September 2012.

Olympus has such confidence in its products that it will be challenging visitors to directly compare their own digital SLRs against a mirrorless Olympus OM-D. The 'shoot-off' text subject will be a 5-metre-tall, glow-in-the-dark puppet called DUNDU. This larger-than-life star will be wowing the crowds – and posing for photographs – in Cologne city centre from dusk onwards on September 18 and during the following day.

As well as the photo challenge, visitors will have a chance to put their camera’s picture quality to the test – this time under more controlled conditions – by pitting their own D-SLR against an OM-D in the hands of a professional photographer. A model will pose for pictures taken by the public and the resident professional. Results from the OM-D will be shown on A0-sized prints (equivalent to one square metre).

The Olympus Audio Lounge is a new addition to the Olympus booth where visitors can sit back and enjoy professional-standard music videos created with a combination of an OM-D, an Olympus LS Digital Recorder and MAGIX Video deluxe 2013 Plus software. A making-of film will illustrate just how easily this can be done.

Finally, in the Blackbox, visitors to the booth can watch light art develop in real time using one of Olympus’ most popular features, Live Bulb, which lets you follow the long-exposure light painting process on the camera display.

The Olympus booth at photokina  is in Hall 2.2, at Stand A11 – B10.
