As the weather warms up it’s the perfect time to get out and about in your favourite park. Why not grab your camera and snap a winning shot while you’re there?
Postcards from the Park is a chance to celebrate the parks of the UK through images that reflect their role in our every day lives. Open to anyone, the competition has been set up by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), BIG and GreenSpace.
The top prize is £1000 of Jessops vouchers. There will also be a finalist and runner-up in every country and region across the UK, all of whom will have their photos professionally curated for a national exhibition.
The photos will also be turned into postcards for distribution at Lottery-funded venues across the UK.
Judging the Postcards from the Park competition in 2008 will be celebrated photographer Mike McCartney along with Paul Bramhill, Chief Executive of GreenSpace, Carole Souter, Director of HLF and Linda Quinn, Director of Communications and Marketing at BIG Lottery.
Any images featuring people must have their permission to be photographed and must be made aware of the purpose of the shot. If they are are under 16 permission from the parents must be obtained.
