Retro Photographic introduce ORWOpan films, Calbe developers - ORWOpan 125 film now available
The history of the ORWO company is interesting - Agfa established a film factory in Wolfen in 1909 called the VEB Filmfabrik AGFA Wolfen , ORWO (ORiginal WOlfen) being established in 1964 when Agfa planned to close the facility and continues the film manufacturing tradition to this day.
Retro Photographic will market ORWOpan 125 film initially in 35mm format. ORWOpan 125 is characterized by high edge sharpness, a fine grain and very wide exposure latitude and is virtually identical to Ilford FP4 in both handling and processing. Pricing is expected to be around £1.49.
Nigel Dear of Retro Photographic comments 'the Retro Photographic quest of finding the unusual this time has come up with ORWOpan 125, a new film from a company whose pedigree goes back to the beginning of the 1900's and we are especially pleased to have sourced another product that is nicely complementary to our existing portfolio'.
Calbe, also a German company, specializes in photographic chemistry and we have selected Calbe A49 and Calbe F09 developers to complement the films in our portfolio. The A49 and R09 products are the pre-war formulations of Agfa Atomal and Agfa Rodinal respectively and as such are perfect for developing the traditional high silver content films like Foma, Efke and Classic Pan.
ORWOPAN films and the Calbe developers are available directly from Retro Photographic
on 0800 915 97 51 or www.retrophotographic.com
where they can be purchased via our new secure online Web shop.
