Ricoh today announced the R-ex 105 featuring a 38mm-105mm power zoom lens in a two-tone compact camera body.
The 38-105mm power zoom lens of the R-ex 105 helps the user frame their subject however they please.
A passive-type 5-zone multi-autofocus provides, no-hassle focusing under virtually any conditions. Due to the Single AF function, the main subject need not be the object closest to the camera.
In full telephoto it is possible to get as close as 60 centimeters from the subject, to capture the fine details.
Scenic vistas and other far-off subjects are rendered in crisp focus using the infinity mode.
Backlight control (Daylight synchro) prevents strong light in the background from throwing the subject into shadow. If the subject is within flash range, the camera balances the lighting with a fill-in flash.
Backlight control (Exposure compensation) adjusts the aperture setting when the subject is out of flash range to ensure strong background light doesn't create shadows
Auto flash automatically measures available illumination and activates the flash if necessary.
Flash off (slow shutter) shuts off the flash to retain the natural charm of low-lit scenes, even at night. The camera slows the shutter speed to take advantage of available light.
Soft flash automatically reduces the intensity of the flash when the subject is very near. This helps prevent an overly bright, "washed out" appearance.
Slow Synchro Mode & Red-eye Reduction minimise the dreaded "red-eye" effect with this mode. The camera fires a gentle light just before the main flash, giving the subject's eyes a chance to adjust.
Optional message/date imprinting allows one to print a personal message, along with the day and date, directly onto the film.
Super night mode, this mode captures both your main subject and background in clear focus. The camera takes two exposures: one focuses on infinity with the flash off, while the other focuses on the subject with the flash on.
Mr. Kazunobu Saiki, Ricoh's Marketing Manager says "By taking the most popular features of a compact zoom and then making the camera versatile with ease of use, we can attract a lot of attention from the snap happy picture taker"
