Rollei announce company reorganisation - Restructure includes a complete separation of their professional division and announcement of their new 'Super Digital Package'.
Rollei Fototechnic GmbH has announced a restructuring of the company that includes the complete separation of their professional division. The new company has the familiar name of Franke and Heidecke and will take over completely the manufacture and distribution of professional medium format systems and slide projectors. All manufacturing capability including machinery and a staff of 75 has now been transferred to Berlin from where world wide distribution will be coordinated. Robert White Photographic in Poole Dorset will continue to be the UK distributor of professional products. The future of Rollei as a professional tool has been underpinned by this development and new products are planned. A recent strategic alliance has been established with Sinar the first result of which will be the Super Digital Package consisting of the 6008AF camera and Sinar Emotion 22 digital back. The Rolleiflex 2.8FX and the 4.0FW will continue their unique place in the film world as will the 6008 AF and 6008 Integral film cameras.
The first new product from the new Franke and Heidecke organisation is the 150/4 AF Tele Xenar lens. This latest incarnation of this classic focal length features floating elements and full PQS spec that allows shutter speeds up to 1/1000 second, unique in a 6x6 camera. The 150/4 AF Tele Xenar will be available at the end of February and is priced at 1850 excluding VAT. Contact Robert White Photographic for more information.
