Royal Photographic Society LogoThe Royal Photographic Society (RPS) is now inviting amateurs, students and professional photographers from around the world to submit work for consideration for The 152nd International Print Exhibition in 2009.  The Society is delighted to announce a second year of sponsorship from international legal practice, Allen & Overy LLP, for the Exhibition. The closing date for entries is Wednesday 4 February 2009.

Each photographer may enter up to four prints and over 120 prints will be selected for the Exhibition itself, which will tour the UK from May 2009.  Exhibitors will also have the opportunity to sell copies of their prints and will have their images reproduced in a full colour catalogue.

There will be Society Medals and Allen & Overy Awards with a total prize fund of £6,500. The overall winner will receive £2,000 and a prestigious Gold Society Medal.  Two Silver Society Medals, each with a prize of £1,000 and three Bronze Society Medals, with a prize of £500 each, will also be awarded. In addition, the Allen and Overy LLP Prize of £1,000 will be presented for the image that best reflects the theme of ‘New Horizons.’

In the Under 25 category, the winner will receive a Gold Society Medal and state of the art, Olympus E520 Digital SLR camera, kindly donated by Olympus.   Up to 10 selected entries will also receive a year’s free membership to The Society and free submission to a Society Distinction assessment, as part of the Jeff Vickers Genix Imaging Youth Initiative.

The awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on Tuesday 19 May 2009.  This will take place at Allen & Overy’s impressive premises at Bishops Square, London, where the exhibition will be displayed for six weeks before embarking on its tour.

The entry fee is £15 for RPS members, £16 for non members and £10 for under 25’s.  There will also be a 20% discount for group entries of five or more entrants who submit their prints in one package.
