RSPCA Young Photography Awards Ceremony

Blue Peter vet Tricia Mundy is set to examine the winning pictures of this years RSPCA Young Photographer Awards at a prestigious awards ceremony in London.

Now in its 17th year, the competition, sponsored by Olympus and Warners Midland, attracts thousands of entries annually from photographers under the age of 18. Also due to attend is RSPCA Chief Vet, and well-known TV presenter Mark Evans.

Shortlisted finalists include two youngsters each with an amazing five pictures in the running for an award - 10-year-old Alex Worthington from Lancaster, and 14-year-old Catriona Parfitt from Southampton. Also from Southampton is 12-year-old Megan McCubbin.

The awards will take place at the Natural History Museum, London on Friday 14 December, from 12.30pm.
