Buying cameras online just got a little bit safer - A safer way to buy your cameras online is to be piloted by some of Europe's leading banks.
Visa Europe have announced that a range of Europe's leading banks will take part in pilots of its new card with a one-time code solution which will make your phone and online camera purchases safer.
The cards which have a one-time code authenticates consumers through an alpha-numeric display and 12-button keypad which is built into a conventional debit, credit or prepaid card. The user enters their pin onto the card which creates a unique code for a specific purchase and as the code is unique to the specific transaction it means it cannot be used again by anyone. Also a fraudster would have to get hold of the card and know the persons PIN in order to use it.
Visa Europe believe this breakthrough in technology will provide more consumers with greater confidence to shop online.
The products has been developed in conjunction with EMUE technologies and you can find out more about the new service on the Visa Europe website.
