Jessops report good sales for the Christmas period - It looks like the economic crisis isn't taking hold of one photographic company just yet as Jessops report a rise in sales.
Jessops have reported a surprise result in like-for-like sales as the camera retailer witnessed a 3.1% rise in sales For the 5 week period ended 5 January 2009.
Even though the last five weeks showed an increase in sales, the like-for-like sales in the 15 weeks leading up to the 5th January were down 5.6%. Jessops have said their profit margins have been affected by the current marketing conditions the industry is facing.
Jessops expected earnings in the year to 30th September 2008 are said to be more than £4.4 million. The company will release the preliminary results for the year later this month.
