Samsung Electronics today marked its 21st year supporting Crufts and its sponsorship of the the Kennel Club’s ‘Dog Photographer of the Year’ competition with the help of reality star and dog lover Millie Mackintosh, who made an appearance on the Samsung stand at the show at the NEC in Birmingham this morning.
The Made in Chelsea star was on hand with her pug Martha to celebrate the start of this year’s show by unveiling the ‘Petsie’ zone of the Samsung stand, where visitors can take and share snaps of their four legged friends throughout this year’s Crufts show.
Recent research from Samsung revealed that we're a nation obsessed with taking and sharing more photos of our furry friends than of our own friends and family. 62% of people admit to regularly uploading and sharing photos of their pets on Facebook and Twitter, with a further 16% revealing that half of the photos they upload onto Facebook are of their pets.
To celebrate this growing phenomenon, Samsung has been on the lookout for Britain’s best ‘Petsies’ in the weeks leading up to Crufts 2014, with the winners receiving their prizes from Millie on the Samsung stand this morning, who was part of the panel of judges.
Millie said, “My dogs are my best friends and I’m constantly taking photos of them. I was thrilled to be part of the judging panel for the Samsung ‘Petsie’ Awards and had a blast meeting the winners at the Samsung stand today.”
