Samsung introduces Vega QD series

Four new Vega QD series of cameras were introduced by Samsung Opto-Electronics UK Ltd. and went on display at the Photo Marketing Association (PMA) Show that opened at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida today.

Designed for the sophisticated camera buff, the Vega QD line incorporates renowned Schneider Kreuznach optics, advanced ergonomics, spectacular features, plus a sophisticated style and design.

Vega 700 QD. With a suggested retail price of 129.99, the Vega 700 QD is a 35mm automatic camera with a 35 - 70mm Schneider Kreuznach lens f 4.5 - 8.1 (six elements, eight groups) with a real image zoom viewfinder. It is housed in a stylish aluminum camera body. A long list of outstanding features includes: continuous shooting, snap mode, portrait zoom, step zoom, interval shoot, caption imprint, bulb, macro, landscape mode, optional remote, programmed auto exposure, auto power off, panorama, focus lock, self-timer, red eye reduction, auto flash, fill-in flash, slow shutter sync flash off, backlight control, Millennium quartz date/time imprint mode, and diopter adjustment.

Vega 290W. With a suggested retail price of 149.99 (QD Kit 169.99), the Vega 290W (Wide Zoom) is a 35mm fully automatic lens shutter camera with a wide angle 28-90mm Schneider Kreuznach lens, f 4.5 - 11.0 (eleven elements, eight groups) with a real zoom, diopter viewfinder. Shooting modes include portrait, continuous, spot, snap, infinity, bulb, panorama and remote control. The camera is housed in a sleek metal camera body.

Other highlights of the camera include red-eye reduction, fill-in flash, flash-off and slow shutter sync.

Vega 1400. With a suggested retail price of 179.99 (QD Kit 199.99), the Vega 1400 is a 35mm automatic camera with a 38 - 140mm Schneider Kreuznach lens, f 4.6 - 12.2 (ten elements, seven groups). It is housed in a stylish aluminum camera body. Vega 170. With a suggested retail price of 249.99 (QD Kit 269.99), the Vega 170 is the "flagship" of Samsung's outstanding 35mm line-up. The camera, housed in a stylish aluminum camera body, features a power zoom 38 - 170mm Schneider Kreuznach lens with passive multi-automatic focusing, auto intelligent flash with red-eye reduction, fill-in, flash-off, slow-sync, backlight control, and switchable panorama. In addition, the camera has multiple caption and quartz date imprinting modes, self-timer and an optional remote control.
