Samsung Photography Competitions – Winners Announced

Last month, courtesy of Samsung, ePHOTOzine had a Samsung NX11 kit and a Samsung WB700 compact camera to give away in our ‘Movement’ and ‘Landscape’ competitions. As always, ePHOTOzine’s members didn’t let us down and we received hundreds of excellent entries! But there could only be two winners and they are ChrisBilton and derekhansen.



We liked the juxtaposition of the man and the aircraft, both of which are showing motion, in ChrisBilton’s airport scene. The jaunty angle has emphasised the straight path of the aeroplane, and the bright blue sky contrasts well against the dull grey airport building. Well done to Chris who wins a Samsung NX11 Kit.

Our winner of the ‘Landscape’ competition, derekhansen, has provided a very simple but beautifully composed landscape. The centre placed tree almost breaks rules but the position on the horizon sweetens the blow. This is a highly graphical take on landscapes and the small aperture has ensured it's sharp from the foreground to the distant tree. Congratulations to Derek who walks away with a Samsung WB700 compact camera.


Well done to those who were shortlisted for both competitions and a big thanks to everyone who entered.

Previously to our Samsung photography competitions, we gave you the chance to win a PEN E-P3, courtesy of Olympus, in our ‘Retro’ competition and the winner of this competition was thejourneysofar.  ameliamay and EmillieFerris took second and third place, winning an Olympus XZ-1 each.
