EISA award for Samsung - Samsung Digital Imaging wins EISA award for the WB1000 camera.
Samsung Digital Imaging, leaders in innovation and digital technology, is pleased to announce the WB1000 being awarded with the prestigious EISA award for European Advanced Compact Camera 2009-2010.
The EISAs reward new products that combine advanced technology and innovative design, with value for money for consumers. Award winners are selected by panels representing 50 prominent photography, video, audio, home theatre, in-car and mobile device magazines from over 19 European countries – ensuring they reflect the views of experts in the field. The success of the WB1000 reflects Samsung’s dedication to leading the digital imaging industry with innovative, high-quality products.
Samsung’s WB1000 was announced in February 2009 and shows Samsung’s dedication to technology lead innovation within the imaging industry. The WB1000, with a 5x optical zoom and 24mm ultra wide lens, breaks new ground in the compact camera category by featuring the world's first 3.0in hVGA AMOLED screen. The organic LED screen out performs conventional TFT LCD screens with a brighter, better contrast which helps when shooting in both bright sunlight and darker conditions.
The WB1000 also has something for the more advanced user who prefers to have more control over camera settings, offering aperture priority and shutter priority, as well as full manual shooting modes. Users can fine tune colour tones in their saved images by adjusting the colour temperature from 2,800-10,000K, in 100K increments, or by manually configuring the camera’s color space shift.
The 12Mp camera also includes advance movie recording capabilities, shooting 720p HD movies at 30 frames per second. In addition to shooting HD movies, the WB1000 has the ability to Pause and Re-record high definition videos in one movie clip - a Samsung patented function.
“We’re thrilled to receive the EISA award” said Robert King, Managing Director at Samsung Digital Imaging. “This award highlights the fact that we’re listening to the needs of our customers and delivering innovative design and features to exceed their expectations, and this is reflected in the WB1000.”
“The Samsung WB1000 is an advanced compact camera that features an elegant titanium body” according to the EISA judges. “Still and MPEG4 HD moving images can be reviewed on the camera’s 3in high-quality AMOLED 518,000-dot screen. These features, together with the built-in optical and software-based stabilisation, ensure that high quality images are easy to achieve.”
The WB1000, available in black and silver, is available from leading high street and online retailers. For more information please visit the Samsung website.
