Sanyo has today launched its highest specification waterproof Dual Camera in the UK. The pocket size Xacti VPC-CA100 is waterproof up to three metres (10 feet) and shoots both full 1080i high definition footage and 14 mega-pixel high-resolution still images. The Xacti’s signature slim-line, pistol-grip chassis makes shooting underwater easier than ever and a dual record button allows users to take pictures instantly even while shooting a movie.
Dominic Jones, UK Marketing Manager at SANYO commented: “Waterproof cameras are increasingly popular with those looking to shoot images and video when on the beach, in the pool or just outdoors in the unpredictable English weather. The Xacti CA100 brings a new level of quality to this arena, not only offering unrivalled full HD and 14 mega-pixel still capabilities, but also a simple, durable and user-friendly design.”
Engineered to adapt to a wide range of filming environments, the new Xacti CA100 has a wide-angle 35mm lens, shoots 1080i footage at 60fps, is watertight to a depth of 3 metres and incorporates a 12x Double Range Advanced Zoom2 function (5 x optical zoom) to help capture even distant events underwater. A built-in light/flash helps to brighten dark underwater scenes, and a bespoke underwater filming mode adjusts colour and contrast ratios to ensure true-to-life colours and brightness for both video and still images. An improved digital image stabiliser keeps footage smooth and makes shooting moving targets easier than ever before.
Easy to shoot and share videos and images
Less than 5cm thick, just 242g and incorporating a 2.7inch TFT LCD display, the pistol-grip Xacti CA100 fits in any pocket or handbag, which makes shooting on the move simple and unobtrusive. The Dual Camera records to SD card – including new high capacity SDXC cards – allowing unlimited expandable memory for even the longest trips. Recording in MP4 format makes sharing videos on social networks such as Facebook and YouTube quick and easy, while Eye-Fi card compatibility enables wireless uploading of videos and images to social networks from any hotspot.
Perfect for sports, holidays and English weather
Available in colourful, high visibility yellow and pink models, as well as original black, the pocket size CA100 has a wealth of specialist applications, from scuba diving to skiing, and also provides peace of mind when filming in the rain or snow.
A HDMI output ensures full HD playback is quick and easy on any HD screen, and a USB2.0 port enables fast data transfer to your computer and recharges the battery when connected.
The Xacti CA100 is available nationwide from today, priced around £349. For more information please visit the Sanyo
