The Xacti E6 features 3x optical zoom, three inch LCD display, MPEG4 format video recording and 'Touch Sensor', providing a short-cut for faster focusing on a subject. This new feature means that by touching the release button on top of the camera, the Xacti E6 is already ready to capture the image, thus improving the reaction time by 0.05 seconds.

The 3x optical zoom is internal, giving the Xacti E6 a sleek, ultra-thin appearance, offering a focal length of 38-114mm and giving brightness of f/3.3-4.0. The three inch LCD display features 230,000 pixels, and allows users clear viewing and playback of their images and videos. The large screen LCD enhances one of the main features of digital photography - the ability to enjoy sharing your favourite images and videos with family and friends.

The Xacti E6 also features digital zoom and has a sensitivity range from ISO 50 to ISO 1800. Still images can be captured at a resolution of 2816 x 2112 effective pixels, and the Xacti E6 also offers an MPEG4 video clip mode. MPEG4 recording provides VGA quality video clips that are not too large in terms of image file, and still preserve good quality. The E6 has a 1./2.5 inch CCD image sensor, capturing still images with a resolution of six megapixels. Images can be stored on the E6's internal 16Mb memory or by using an external Secure Digital or MultiMedia Card.

The Sanyo Xacti E6 provides digital effects such as black and white and sepia, and aims to keep photography simple by offering only automatic functions. For energy the Xacti E6 uses a Lithium ion battery.
