Press Release:
Battling class 3 rapids, scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef or paddling your way through amazing landscapes are all extraordinary moments you’ll want to remember for the rest of your life. SeaLife’s new ECOshot is designed tough to capture these impressive outdoor adventures. This 6-megapixel camera is the ideal companion to take on all your ventures into the elements.

Whether kayaking, rafting, hiking, boating, scuba diving or snorkeling there’s no fear that water will damage or ruin the camera. And its compact size makes it the ideal camera for all outdoor and watersport situations.

SeaLife Cameras, recognized by TIME Magazine for one of “The Most Amazing Inventions Of 2005" for its DC500 digital camera, is a leading manufacturer in underwater dive cameras, with over 25 years of experience designing durable waterproof cameras to the specific needs of outdoor enthusiasts.

This camera utilizes the latest in digital camera technology and made for fast action use under varying elements. The ECOshot has virtually no shutter lag and a fast recycle time so you won’t miss capturing your memorable moments. The new SPY mode allows the camera to take continuous pictures at set time intervals so you capture the perfect shot of hard to photograph subjects. Select the desired time interval from 5 seconds to 30 minutes and push the shutter button. The camera will automatically take pictures until the memory card is full or you push the shutter button again. Capture beautiful sunsets in time lapse or hard-to-photograph wildlife scenes. The SPY mode has endless applications limited only to your creativity.

The ECOshot also features unique Land&Sea exposure program so the camera takes sharp colourful pictures in a variety of applications. Set the camera to Sea mode for optimal exposure control and colour correction for underwater pictures. The External Flash mode allows scuba divers to take bright colourful images when using the SeaLife auxiliary flash accessory. The ECOshot also includes Auto, Sports, Portrait and Landscape modes.
Guaranteed waterproof to a depth of 75 feet (23 meters), the ECOshot measures merely 3.1” x 4.7” x 1.7” (HxWxD) and weighs less than 10.6 ounces (300 grams) with 2AA batteries and an SD memory card. The camera’s fully rubber armoured for sure-grip handling through all conditions and is Shockproof up to 20G’s (6ft/2m). Shutter release and all other mode buttons are easily accessible, even when wearing gloves. The camera also includes a self-timer and features a video mode, allowing users to capture high-resolution Motion JPEG digital video with audio.

The ECOshot takes the meaning of rugged and waterproof to the extreme. Its the ideal camera for places you would not dare take your stylish land camera,” said Joe Ifi, SeaLife’s director of sales and marketing. “With its new Spy and Land&Sea modes, the ECOshot is the perfect camera to have on your outdoor adventures.

The SeaLife ECOshot features 14 MB of built-in memory, and an SD Card slot that can be used to add up to 1gb more memory. The camera comes complete with Photo Express and Photo Explorer software and connects with USB connection. The SeaLife ECOshot is available at select outdoor and dive retailers worldwide at a suggested list price of €279.95 (approx £190). The ECOshot will be available in stores February 2007.
