Sigma SD14 to be revealed at Photokina - Sigma have begun a 'teaser' campaign for their new digital SLR camera, which will be revealed at Photokina in Cologne, Germany on September 26th.

Unlike conventional Bayer-pattern CCD sensors, which only collect information for one of the red, green or blue colour channels at each photosite, the Foveon sensor collects all three colour channels at each pixel. This is interesting because the colour information doesn't need to be interpolated and should lead to sharper, more detailed images than a camera with the same number of pixels.
