For owners of Digital SLR Camera DSLR-A100, we are offering a firmware update as well as an update program for Image Data Converter SR Ver1.1.

Improvement of firmware

Applicable version: Ver. 1.00 and 1.01
How to check the version number is written in the download page.

The firmware update is to:

  1. Address the symptom that in very rare cases, RAW format files may not be opened by the supplied image control software, Picture Motion Browser.
  2. Improve image gradation when the shutter speed is 1 sec or longer.
  3. Improve printed picture quality when the image is printed by Epson(R) printer under PRINT Image Matching.

Applicable version: Ver. 1.1

The update program is to:

  1. add a feature to address the symptom that in very rare cases, RAW format files recorded by DSLR-A100 (with original firmware) may not be opened with Picture Motion Browser. (for Windows only)
  2. support indication of new lens information.
Updates for Windows and Macintosh can be download from the Sony European support centre

There was a mention prior to launch from some folks here that Sony softwatre may be an issue. So not a good start, but it seems to be acted on quickly

I believe that you should judge a company on how they fix their problems, not that a problem exists in the first place.

you might already 0 but look what it actually fixes not very much at all is the truth. Even the Nikon D2X had a fix this quick when it came out
