Sony DPP-FP55 and DPP-FP35 dye-sublimation printers
Press Release:
As the digital camera revolution continues to gain momentum across Europe, Sony today, launches two new photo printers in its popular digital printing range. Both devices also offer industry standard PictBridge compatibility when printing from an enabled digital still camera or mobile phone, one of the latest developments in the market.

DPP-FP55: style and functionality in a single device
Building on the success of the popular Sony FP50, the new FP55 incorporates a 2.0 colour TFT monitor with three-step functionality. As easy as ABC, this standalone printer is cable-free. Users simply insert the memory card, select their images on the screen and push the print button. The Sony FP55 features direct SD and MS/MSDuo card slots, ensuring maximum compatibility with majority of current DSC on the market. Photo-lovers who prefer to store their prints on their PC can also connect the DPP-FP55 direct to the PC via a USB cable and port.

The FP55 offers a fast printing speed, optimized for printing high resolution images in around 63 seconds. The model boasts a large 2.0 LCD monitor which replaces the need to view photos on TV or on the PC. Users can now view, manage, edit or print each photo through a simple control panel. The larger LCD panel also helps photographers review and remove red-eye ahead of printing, saving time and money.

Available with the FP55 is a wide variety of value-added image options. From making postcards and photo albums to printing calendars from a range of templates, the FP55 allows users to transform images with editing and special effects. The Multi-photo option allows photographers to create composite images with up to 16 different photos.

Key product features include:
  • 2.0-inch colour TFT monitor
  • Direct SD and MS/MSDuo slots
  • Fast printing speed, optimised for printing of high resolution images
  • PC free operation with additional features include Calendar Print, Layout and Index Print and Red eye reduction

Also launched today is the Sony DPP-FP35 - an easy to use digital printer at an affordable price. This model offers budding photographers a compact and functional printer option which they can buy at the same time as their digital camera. This printer connects to the PC via USB, but also direct from the DSC or mobile phone when PictBridge-enabled.
