The Sony UP-DR150/4 printer has brought home first place in the annual DIMA Digital Printer Shoot-Out competition in the six inch dye sublimation category. The UP-DR150/4 printer scored particularly well on the award programme’s colour measurement and text/resolution target criteria.
The Digital Imaging Marketing Association (DIMA) is an internationally recognised body and expert on digital imaging technology. The competition pits printers from similar categories against each other; each participating company is provided with a target file and given five business days to produce a print for entry into the shoot-out.
The success of the UP-DR150/4 printer in this small-format digital category relies upon its ability to maintain quality resolution at a rapid print speed. For retailers such as ASDA, this benefit as well as its compact size has made the printer an invaluable asset. Being able to print high quality 4 x 6in photos in approximately 3.5s each brought rapid photo printing to stores without any previous photo services. The UP-DR150/4 kiosks have been installed in 258 ASDA stores across the UK.
As Raj Pandya, B2B Channel General Manager for Sony UK comments, “The affordability, speed and quality of the UP-DR150/4 has made the printer phenomenally popular with ASDA customers, whilst providing the stores with new revenue streams. We are excited that the UP-DR150/4 has been granted such deserved recognition at this year’s DIMA awards”.
