Spicer HallfiledSpicer Hallfield will trade for the last time today and anything ordered after 9am on Thursday 18th June will not be processed.

A statement about the closer can be found on their website which states: “David Whitehouse and Philip Duffy of MCR Corporate Restructuring were appointed Joint Administrators of Spicer Hallfield Limited ("the Company") on 3 April 2009. The affairs, business and property of the Company are being managed by the Joint Administrators who contract as agents of the Company without personal liability.

It is with regret that we have to advise you that a sale of the Spicer Hallfield business on a going concern basis has not been achieved, and consequently Spicer Hallfield Limited will cease to trade...May we at Spicer Hallfield take this opportunity to thank you for your support over the years and wish you well in the future.”

News of the potential closure was already circulating a few weeks ago when staff said they would be shutting down.

Such a shame as the product lineup was starting to get better, i think they overstreched by moving to Bradford - GF Smith to take the reigns now then??
