Hahnemuhle FineArt at SWPP - Celebrating 425 years of dedication to the arts.
Very few companies worldwide can look back with pride over such a long and rich tradition. Since our founding in 1584 Hahnemühle in Dassel has demonstrated its superb mastery of a traditional craft: creating uniquely beautiful papers from pure spring water and premium cellulose.Using this rich experience enables us to be at the forefront of the ever evolving digital inkjet market as well as the realm of traditional artists paper. Recent technological advances such as our true Baryta papers enable photographers to recreate darkroom prints digitally; Hahnemühle’s newly released papers are available in a 64 inch format to match the latest Giclee printing technology; We are also proud to be at the forefront of research and development of environmentally friendly papers made from highly renewable resources such as bamboo and cotton rag. FOCUS visitors will witness the debut of an exciting new edition to our environmental range.
Centuries of tradition and a fine appreciation of artistic needs combine to ensure the highest quality in our papers. Hahnemühle products – manufactured at the same location for 425 years – have captivated photographers, graphic artists, illustrators, bookbinders and painters in more than 80 countries. Photographic prints and reproductions on Hahnemühle’s digital paper are to be found worldwide in exhibitions, galleries and museums.
Hahnemühle Anniversary Photo Award
The Hahnemühle Anniversary Photo Award is aimed at photographers worldwide with the theme “For Originals”: We are interested in the photographer’s original images and unique angle of capturing an image. Hahnemühle is giving away non-cash prizes worth € 36.000 and is organizing the winners to tour as an Anniversary Collection - a traveling exhibition which will be visiting the photo capitals of Europe, America and Asia to showcase the winning images.
A published catalogue of the “Hahnemühle Anniversary Collection” will accompany the works of the winners.
Exclusive Anniversary Collection
To celebrate our 425 year anniversary Hahnemühle will release an exclusive Anniversary Collection Box. This Anniversary Edition presents our elegant cotton rag paper with a particularly smooth texture for Fine Art images as well as other special anniversary products. Packaged in a unique presentation box designed exclusively for us by Prat, Paris.
Sugar Cane: New addition to Hahnemühle’s environmental products
There is another exciting new addition to our environmentally friendly range of products, addressing the growing concerns and demands of artists and photographers who want to reduce their own carbon footprint and do their bit for the environment. Hahnemühle Sugar Cane is made from 75% sugar cane fibre. The organic by-product of sugar cane processing is used to make a pulp. This pulp or “bagasse” is an eco-friendly renewable resource endorsed by environmental organizations. Cotton fibres extracted from recycling our own paper surplus make up the remaining 25% of raw material used to produce the paper. The result is a natural white Fine Art paper extremely resistant to ageing. The premium inkjet coating guarantees Fine Art images rich in contrast and detail, and the texture of this artist paper has a wonderful feel to it. Hahnemühle Sugar Cane is ideal for warm toned colour and monochrome prints of Fine Art photography and art reproductions.
This Paper will have its UK debut as an exclusive preview at FOCUS (22-25th feb 09 find us on stand C22).
More information on our environmental initiative can be found on the Green Rooster website.
