SP AF90mm F2.8 Di MACRO 1:1
The existing Tamron 90mm Macro lens is world renowned for its outstanding optical performance as well as its lightweight and compact design. Tamron have redesigned this lens to feature Di - Digitally Integrated Design for use with film and digital SLR cameras.
The lens provides outstanding image quality when used with film or digital cameras. Unlike conventional lenses, designed to cope with internal diffused reflections of a mirror box and film surface, Di lenses offer new anti-reflection countermeasures that are essential in lenses designed for use with digital cameras. The 90mm Di features an improved coating technology that reduces the reflections that are likely to become a problem to the absolute minimum.
This new 90mm Macro lens also features an improved external design and improved focusing ring. The lens is also equipped with a one touch switchover mechanism to quickly perform one touch switchover from AF to MF by simply sliding the focus ring back and forth (for Nikon AF-D and Canon AF mounts only).
By the employment of an improved design that makes it the most lightweight* medium telephoto macro lens available. The lens weighs 15 grams less and is 2.5mm shorter than the previous model.
*as of January 2004 based on Tamron research of lenses in the same class.
The weight values used for comparison are those of Nikon AF-fit lenses.
The 90mm Di lens offers a medium telephoto focal length making it particularly useful as a portrait macro lens when used with a film camera. When the lens is mounted on a digital camera (with an APS-C sized image sensor) it provides a focal length equivalent to that of 140mm, so it can be used conveniently as a
telephoto macro lens for digital photography.
SP AF 200-500MM F5-6.3 Di LD
The 200-500mm Super Telephoto lens features a detachable filter effect controller (FEC) which enables easy control of the PL filter even when the hood is attached, and a removable tripod mount. To meet the needs of both silver-halide and digital photography, the lens features Di (Digitally Integrated Design), the designation Tamron puts on lenses featuring optical systems designed to meet the performance characteristics of digital SLR cameras as well as film cameras.
Filter effect control (FEC) enables easy control of a PL filter even when the hood is attached by twisting
the surrounding ring where the filter connects. The FEC can be removed if the user desires.
LD low dispersion/low refraction elements - colour aberrations, which are highlynoticeable in many telephoto lenses, have been reduced by the use of two LD elements, enabling clear, high definition photographs at any focal length.
Lightweight lens the barrel components are manufactured from highly durable lightweight
plastics that excel in stability and strength.
Super high definition Due to highly balanced optics, excellent contrast is achieved in the low frequency range, leading to high resolution pictures across the entire image plane.
Detacheable tripod mount - manufactured from lightweight and durable magnesium alloy, the tripod mount is easily detachable with a simple touch of a button.
Minimum object Distance - enables you to get as close as 2.5m from your main subject at any focal length,
